Yeppoon
The Capricorn Coast has a population of approximately 17,000
and features a number of attractive beaches where you can swim
all year round. Yeppoon is the most northern beach on the coast
and many of its 8000 permanent residents commute to Rockhampton
every day for work, thereby enjoying the best of both worlds.
The drive south from Yeppoon to Emu Park features a number of
delightful, and very unspoilt, beaches. The first of these, Cooee
Bay offers panoramic views from Wreck Point Lookout of Keppel
Bay and Great Keppel and North Keppel islands. The road south
wends its way through Lammermoor Beach, Statue Bay, Rosslyn Bay
Marina (departure point for Great Keppel Island), Mullambin Beach,
The Causeway and Kinka Beach before reaching Emu Park. All of
these beaches have their own charm and offer wonderful holiday
retreats ideal for fishing, swimming or just relaxing with a good
book.
Whilst the Capricorn Coast offers year round swimming, as in
most tropical waters, marine stingers are a potential hazard between
November and March.
Climate
Yeppoon has a very pleasant climate with a temperature range
of 11 to 29 degrees Celcius and an annual rainfall of 1300 millimetres.

Located 681 km north of Brisbane and 40 km east of Rockhampton

of Yeppoon.
