Graduate Nursing Program


Features of the Program

The Graduate Nurse Program gives you a supported and comprehensive experience that provides practical opportunities for you to consolidate your knowledge and clinical skills. Programs commence January and July each year, additionally we offer the option to commence in a registered nurse capacity once QNC registration is approved prior to staring your graduate program.

The 12-month Program features:

  • $1000 staff development bursary
  • Staff development package, consisting of 4 paid study days and remuneration for professional development
  • Graduated supernumerary practice for the first two weeks
  • Placements by negotiated preference
  • Support of a Clinical Educator
  • Five day practical orientation
  • Competency skills assessments in general and speciality practice areas
  • Unit based Clinical Nurse Preceptor
  • Graduation ceremony and certificate upon completion of program

Rotations

  • The program is generally full time but a part time program can be negotiated
  • You can negotiate rotations through:
    • Aged Care
    • Day Surgery
    • High Dependency
    • Medical
    • Paediatrics
    • Palliative Care
    • Peri-operative
    • Rehabilitation
    • Surgical
    • Women's Unit
